Freedom Misunderstood

"My child,
You left because you said you wanted to be free,
Left my side saying, I want freedom.

Freedom to find my own way,
Freedom to do what everyone else is doing,
Freedom to follow my emotions,
Freedom to make my own decisions about life.

But My child, you have only walked right into the ownership of another,
who blinds your eyes and bounds your heart and mind with his chains,
     imprisoning you to darkness.

My nail scared hands have paid the price for your release.
My body was pierced and wounded to set you free,
My blood was shed to break the chains.

Please accept My gift to you
My gift of redemption,
My gift of freedom!"

The prodigal son left, hoping to find happiness, satisfaction, something better,
After he lost all he "came to his senses" and remembered home, remembered his Father.
And while He was still a long way off... his Father saw him and ran to him,
    hugging, kissing, and accepting him.

"My response is the same to you, my child.
I am searching the horizon, waiting to see you turn,
waiting for you to remember, waiting for you to begin your journey home.
Oh, how my arms are waiting to hug you.
Oh, how I am waiting to look you in the eyes, and whisper My love and acceptance to you
Oh, I am waiting...all the hosts of heaven are waiting too... we want to celebrate,
The return of you, My beloved one, to Me, Your Lover!"

Luke 15
